Beyond InnerSource, his research interests span operating systems, distributed systems, and dynamically reconfigurable systems. He chairs the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) of the Civil Infrastructure Platform (CIP) project and serves on the Board of Directors of The Linux Foundation.

Yuji Sanada (Hidden Barriers to InnerSource)

Yuji Sanada works in Mitsubishi Electric’s Open Source & InnerSource Program Office (OSPO), where he is involved in developing strategy and company-wide initiatives for Open Source and InnerSource. His work focuses on scaling InnerSource across diverse business domains, connecting engineering practices with corporate strategy, and promoting cross-organisational knowledge sharing and value co-creation. He is also involved in building the organisational and technical foundations needed to expand InnerSource across the company, including community development, platform strategy, and collaboration with relevant corporate functions. Through these activities, Yuji explores how large and complex organisations can overcome silos and create new value across business boundaries. His goal is to strengthen software development capabilities and cross-organisational co-creation in manufacturing through Open Source, InnerSource, and AI-enabled knowledge sharing.
